Legal Training

Structured training programmes on core business and legal areas are organised at all levels, for trainees, associates and partners alike. At every step of the way, you will be given the most appropriate training to help you increase your knowledge and achieve success, some of which is delivered through our promotion schools.

Travel Opportunities

Our current overseas secondments are to: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo.

Postgraduate Study

Having completed your degree, you will need to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) prior to commencing your training contract. If you have studied a non-law degree, you will also need to take the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). As part of our commitment to our people, and our desire to attract the best candidates, law school fees are paid for in full by Simmons & Simmons LLP.

Our academic requirements are only for an undergraduate degree however we welcome applications from graduates who have gone onto further study.

MBA

We have also launched our own Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme- a rare opportunity to obtain a highly sought after qualification. In partnership with BPP business school, this is an industry first that is designed to give us a pool of talented junior lawyers with greater commercial insight.

Simmons & Simmons applies considerable expertise to all business sectors, but focuses on: asset management and investment funds; energy and infrastructure; financial institutions; life sciences; and technology, media and telecommunications. These five sector teams are drawn from the core practice areas of: corporate; dispute resolution; EU; competition and regulatory; employment; pensions and employee benefits; financial markets; IP; projects; real estate; information, communications and technology; and tax.

Starting Salary

£37,000 pa (1st year) / £41,750 pa (2nd year).

Sponsorship

We will cover your full tuition fees at law school and offer a maintenance grant of up to £7,500.

We will pay your tuition fees and give you a maintenance grant. You will also have the option of taking a £2,000 loan prior to the start of your training contact, to help with expenditure on everything from rental deposits to a new suit!
